I'm in the mood for recapping and here is the easiest place, so bear with me

Mostly in a vague order but not precisely.

The year started out with Session A in Canberra of the National Youth Science Forum. I left on the 2nd of Jan and stayed in Melbourne. After seeing my RMDSFR friends on the way, I arrived on the 3rd and spent two weeks with 150 of the most amazing people from around the country and overseas - friends I still talk to and visit as often as possible. We visited labs around the city in groups (Florey!), did touristy things and had so much fun - singing and chanting, bushdance, quiz night, CERN video conference, science disco, floor groups, Monty Python, all-nighter.. I could go on. This involved lots of effort to get into and I have not regretted it a single bit. It's a pity that I did't put more effort into my international program application and my report. It would have been nice to be involved more.

A pretty important thing, year 12 at UAHS studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths Studies and Drama. Only 4 subjects because it's the new SACE and they used us as guinea pigs - basically screwing everyone over so nobody knew what was happening.. Ahh well. More on school later.

I continued volunteering with St John, this year marking the beginning of my 7th year with the brilliant organisation. I competed in both individual first aid competitions (regional runner up) and won the regional cadet of they year. I was also the guest speaker at the Blackwood ANZAC Eve Remembrance Ceremony at the youth vigil.

NYSF Adelaide seminar was pretty damn awesome. Techport, after hours at the museum and the zoo, all 3 unis, RiAus, rising sun, central markets..

Friends played Barbie with me again for AVCon - this time we did L4D and yours truly was the witch! It was awesome fun walking around everywhere crying and watching everyone either try to startle me or run away although I couldn't get more than 10m without stopping for photos.

Also did the zombiewalk with about 5 minutes' preparation - but I'm just that good!

Year 12 drama production took up a lot of my free time for a month or two - twice weekly out of school hours rehearsals as well as many free lessons/lunchtimes. As you do. We did a performance of 'The Ash Girl' by Timberlake Wertenbaker, a gothic Cinderella story including the 7 deadly sins. I played 'Envysnake' and the Owl. It was epic fun, even with only 3 real performances.

My netball team won our premiership! After two years in a row of losing by a TINY margin in the grand final..

Throughout the year I turned into a crazy origami lady..

I began volunteering with RiAus - the Royal Institution of Australia. They focus on science communications ("Bringing science to people and people to science") and are based in Adelaide at the *AMAZING* old converted stock exchange. Met some cool people already through helping with events!

My Grandpa got remarried after losing my Grandma to cancer 5 years ago. It's nice to see him happy again and am perfectly glad to welcome Diana to the family.

I continued Taekwondo (started as my yr11/12 research project) and have so far reached blue belt level.

Year 12 continues. Exams finished on the 9th of November. On the 30th was our presentation night and I won the Chemistry AND Drama subject awards. Yaaay! The next day was formal, to which two of my friends and I were driven in a Rolls Royce convertible. Hell yes. It was a great night

I spent a ridiculously amazing weekend in Sydney with staff and volunteers (new and old) for ReachOut.com/the Inspire foundation. I was part of the 'speakers bureau' and we learned a whole lot about advocating youth mental health issues to the media. I also met some reaally cool and inspirational people not to mention the vintage vinnies prom and watching the lunar eclipse with pizza on the tennis courts at 1am! I *also* got to see one of my AMAZING NYSF friends who lives in Sydney which was great, despite the fact that I lost my voice that night (and didn't get it back for a week).

Results: An ATAR of 97.65 (out of 99.95) even WITH drama being scaled down - which I'm exceptionally happy with, considering everything. Plus with the bonus points I get, as far as the uni is concerned I'm on 99.95 (a perfect score)!

I'm applying for an advanced BSc (hons) with a large research focus, looking at both molecular biosciences and science communications.

Throughout the year met (or re-met in some cases..) a bunch of random people too, so that's always cool

Christmas has been really nice. My main present this year is contribution to driving lessons so I can hurry up and get my Ps!

I don't know if you really go on Dev anymore, but maybe this will be a pleasant surprise in the near (or perhaps distant) future. A surprise because you will be wished a HAPPY BIRTHDAY at a much later date than before. Or maybe this is for next year, extra early. Anywho, I hope that you have had/will have a WONDERFUL birthday and celebrate and feel more mature and an ADULT FINALLY!!
